Please note, we WILL adopt to out of state applicants, BUT we do not ship or transport dogs to adopters. NO EXCEPTIONS! Our time and resources spent on transports are solely to save a dogs life by getting them transported out of a life or death situation. All adopters must be willing to pick up the dog in person after they are approved for adoption. If you are not willing to make the effort to pick up a dog you wish to adopt, that is an indicator you will not put in the effort with the dog once you have it, and we realize dog ownership is not always easy (picking up the dog is the easy part!) if picking up a dog is too much, you should recondier adopting. This is a living being, not a pizza with an expectation of perfection delivered! Dogs are ALOT of work and its not always unicorns and rainbows. Expect to put time into training your dog and you may need to have a trainer come to your home to work with you at your expense. If this is not something you can provide, please do not apply with us
Due to limited time we have for correspondences, we require you to complete an application and once received, then we will answer specific questions about the dog you are interested in, this is to ensure our time is spent on serious applicants.

Please allow 1-4 weeks before expecting any response as we have many, MANY responsibilities that must be prioritized and just 2 volunteers who review applications.
If we do not have a dog that matches your needs, you may not receive an immediate response.
Again, to be clear, if you do not fill out the application IN FULL you will not hear back from us.
We are not an animal "shelter" and just applying DOES NOT ensure you will be approved to adopt. We invest so much into each dog we save, we want the best for them and we have high expectations for adopters. Most people understand this and share in our desire to adopt dogs into homes that are chosen with the best interest of the dog in mind, please if you do not understand that we are selective and seeking a PERFECT match for each of the dogs entrusted in our care, or if you feel as though you will be angered by not being approved or able to adopt from us, save the effort and time and apply with another organization.
We expect to keep in contact with adopters and we take our adoption contract very seriously. If you do not wish to keep in contact with and update us on a dog you adopt, please do not continue with the application process. If attempts to contact you after an adoption go unanswered or we have concerns about how the dog is being kept, we will do whatever necessary within our contractual rights to ensure the dog is cared for within our standards.
What is required to apply for adoption?

WHY do you ask for an application donation?
Effort and time spent towards processing applications, running background checks, and reviewing questionnaires take away from time we have to care for the dogs, other matters and fundraising. As a result, we require a non refundable $25 processing fee with your adoption application. This fee in no way guarantees you will be approved to adopt from us. This will hopefully help us provide for the dogs in our care and also "weed out" those applicants who are not truly sincere, committed to adopting a dog, or folks who cannot in reality afford to properly care for a dog. Rest assured, 100% of the proceeds from this fee go towards the dogs in our care and help us save lives!

What are your adoption fees? Why do you have fees to adopt?
Our adoption fees are to offset the extensive vetting and boarding costs of saving the dogs in our rescue. We are not federally funded in any way, we are a registered 501c3 charity that relies exclusively on donations, adoption/surrender fees and fundraisers. The rescue is ran by a handful of 100% UNPAID volunteers so all funds go towards the dogs needs. Dogs are costly to feed and provide regular vetting to.*** If you cannot afford a small application donation of $25, you should seriously
re-evaluate if you can honestly afford to provide to a dog properly***
Gonna be honest here, dog ownership is NOT CHEAP nor is it easy. If donating a small, non refundable fee is something you cannot afford you really cannot afford to properly care for a dog. The fee is non refundable nor does it guarantee in any way you will be approved to adopt.
Remember, too many dogs end up in shelters because people get them and realize they cannot afford them!
